Enzyme: How To Increase The Amount In Your Diet
What Is Enzyme ?
Lactase is the enzyme in the small intestine that digests
lactose (the naturally occurring sugar in milk) A few children
and many people after childhood do not produce sufficient
lactase, which impairs the body’s ability to digest milk These
individuals are lactose intolerant Lactase drops can be added
to regular milk twenty-four hours before drinking to reduce
lactose levels Lactose-reduced milk is also available and can
be used in the same quantities as regular milk Lactase drops,
capsules, and tablets can also be taken directly, as needed,
immediately before a meal containing dairy products The degree
of lactose intolerance varies by individual, so a greater or
lesser amount of lactase may be needed to eliminate symptoms of
lactose intolerance
Types Of Enzyme:
There are three classes of enzymes; metabolic enzymes which run
our bodies; digestive enzymes, which digest our food; and food
enzymes from raw foods, which begin food digestion
Metabolic Enzymes:
Our bodies- all our organs and tissues are run by metabolic
enzymes These enzyme workers take proteins, fats and
carbohydrates (starches, sugars) and structure them into healthy
bodies, keeping everything running smoothly every organ and
tissue has its own metabolic enzymes to do specialized work
Since good healthy depends on all of these metabolic enzymes
doing an excellent job, we must be sure that nothing interferes
with the body’s ability to make enough of them A shortage could
mean serious trouble Modern research is implicating enzymes in
all of our activities Even thinking involves enzyme activity
Hundreds of metabolic enzymes are necessary to carry on the work
of the body- to repair damage and decay and heal diseases
Digestive Enzymes:
Digestive enzymes only have three jobs: digesting proteins,
carbohydrates and fat Proteases are enzymes that digest
protein;
Raw Food Enzymes:
If the human organism must devote its enzyme potential to making
digestive enzymes, it spells trouble for the whole body because
there is a strain on production of metabolic enzymes and there
may not be enough to go around
If we take in more exogenous (out side) digestive enzymes, as
nature ordained, the body will not have to waste so much of its
enzyme stores digesting food It can distribute more of this
precious commodity to the metabolic enzymes, where it belongs
This rightful distribution of enzyme energy
Enzyme Deficiency
When the body receives foods that are deficient in enzymes, it
increases its numbers of white blood cells as a defense
mechanism Enzymes are then released from these cells as well
as, from the lymphatic tissue and spleen where they also are
stored in the body to digest toxins When white blood cells are
continually elevated due to a diet of enzyme dead foods, the
immune system becomes compromised This is because enzymes,
normally held in storage to fight infection, are drawn out of
storage for the purpose of digesting food
There is a direct link between the strength of our immune system
and our enzyme levels The more enzymes we have the stronger our
immune and digestive system will be Leukocytes are white blood
cells that contain eight different amylase enzymes, which
assists the white blood cell to engulf foreign substances and
reduce them to a form that the body can eliminate Research has
shown that leukocytes increase after one has eaten a cooked
meal However, there is no increase in leukocytes after a person
has eaten a raw food meal Research has shown that enzymes are
related to all diseases via the immune system whether the
disease is acute or chronic, if the pancreatic output of enzymes
is hindered, the whole body is affected There is a greater
amount of enzymes found in the young person’s tissue than in an
elderly person’s tissue Understanding this fact of life, doing
all you can to maintain and enhance your enzyme levels would be
a benefit to unlimited health
Enzyme diet Foods
There’s a lot of misinformation out there on diet and health
today We want to cut through all the confusion and give you a
few simple facts It can be so confusing that many people have
given up on trying to lose weight or eat a healthy diet It is
important to consider how to balance a diet containing cooked
food and raw food if one wishes to replace the enzymes missing
in the cooked portion Raw vegetables in the form of salads and
fruit are easy and helpful While these low-calorie foods have
some enzymes, they are more useful for their vitamin and mineral
content High- calorie foods have far more of the three main
digestive enzymes but unfortunately these foods are customarily
eaten cooked and depleted of enzymes
With a meal of meat, potatoes and bread many people include a
combination vegetable salad
Lack Of Enzymes Can Cause Diseases:
Many complex diseases have two causes The first is the chief
culprit; enzyme deficiency or malnutrition It sets the stage
and acts behind the scenes, painlessly, silently and
treacherously the second more obvious “cause” of disease can
bring trouble only if the first is present It includes
carcinogens, cholesterol, bacteria, X-rays, food additives and
tobacco smoke Smoking only acts to stimulate disease, as a
spark which can grow into a flame and burn out an already
unhealthy body
Enzymes are used up more rapidly during all acute and chronic
illnesses Those with diabetes, hypoglycemia, endocrine gland
weakness, obesity, digestive dysfunction and stress related
problem would all benefit from plant enzyme supplementation The
importance of enzymes cannot be overemphasized If the lack of
enzymes can cause diseases, then adding enzymes to the diet,
through supplementation and proper food intake will prevent
premature aging and break down of the body
We all know people who have smoked for a lifetime without
developing cancer Similarly, millions of people use saccharin
and food additives, are exposed to X-rays, drink polluted water
and breathe polluted air and appear to be immune to the toxic
effects of these agents This is not say that I condone
polluting the body with harmful materials But I contend that
those individuals getting more enzyme reinforcements from
outside sources have better tools to deal with these substances
that those who have no reinforcements
Benefits of Enzyme ?
Nutrition is the body’s ability to consume 45 foundational
nutrients, which are protein, carbohydrates, fats, water, 13
vitamins, 9 amino acids, and 19 minerals, Eating foods that
contain these elements, along with supplemental enzymes in their
proper amounts will ensure god nutrition Enzymes turn the food
we eat into energy and unlock this energy for use in the body
Life depends on enzymes Enzymes and proteins are dependent upon
one another Enzyme is
effective in:
Breaks down lipids to enhance weight fat loss
Effective in lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels
Helps maintain proper pH balance in the GI tract and the urine
Aids in overcoming sleep disorders of insomnia and sleep apnea
Ameliorates chronic fatigue and lethargy induced by a nutrient
deficiency
Provides relief from discomfort caused by gas, bloating,
heartburn and bowel irritation
Promotes strengthening of the stomach lining and intestinal
mucosa and helps normalize gut flora
Aids the body in absorbing and assimilating the 45 nutrients,
thereby reducing calories and sugar cravings
Ameliorates depression, anxiety attacks and other mental
disturbance brought on by nutritional deficiency
